Regardless of What He Says-She Says, Listen, Hear, and Obey the Voice of God

We sometimes get so caught up in the opinionated conversations stemming from social media, the news, politics and even our own inner thoughts. It can be totally mind-boggling. Many folks will accept the words of man as the gospel, so to speak, but what about the Word of God? Are we really listening to what the Lord has to say? The words we absorb into our spirit can either lift us up or bring us down. As believers we can silence disparaging words by heeding to the voice of God. Here are a few examples of He says-She says vs. The Word of the Lord.

He says-She says: According to the news, there is going to be a major recession and by next year the majority will be starving.”

The Word of the Lord says: “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” (Psalm 37:25 KJV)

He says-She says: I am so ill. The doctor says I won’t live much longer.”

The Word of the Lord says: “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” (Psalm 118:17 KJV)

He says-She says: This world is becoming more and more evil. I am so fearful to leave out of my house.”

The Word of the Lord says: “The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1 NIV)

He says-She says: We better get ready because Prophet “Knowitall” says Jesus is coming back in October 2023 and he is always on point.”

The Word of the Lord says: “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” (Matthew 24:36 KJV)

He says-She says: You are just a fool. It is unlikely you will achieve anything worthwhile in life.”

The Word of the Lord says: “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.” (I Corinthians 1:27 NIV)

He says-She says: Girl, if she treated me like she did you, I wouldn’t give her a dime.”

The Word of the Lord says: “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” (Matthew 5:44 KJV)

Let us avoid the nonsensical verbiage of the world and remain in the truth of God’s Word.

Whose report do you believe? I believe the report of the Lord!

Reflective Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to always keep in remembrance that you are God and above you there is none other. Regardless of what others may think or say, I will listen, hear, and obey your voice. Amen.
