"Keep Hope Alive”

“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick, but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”

Proverbs 13:12 KJV

We often equate hope with faith and although intertwined, the two words can be different n content depending on the context. Hope in the natural sense means to desire something with anticipation. For instance, when I wake up some mornings I might state “I hope I have a much better day today -OR- “I hope when the mail carrier arrives, he’ll bring a check instead of all that junk mail!”

Faith in the spiritual sense is the substance (essential essence) of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Although we cannot physically see our Heavenly Father, we must walk daily by faith with the earnest expectation of one day living eternally with Him in our new heavenly home. God did not say we would make it to heaven on flowery beds of ease. In other words, we will have to go through trials and times of discomfort. Our tests come to make us stronger in knowing our dependency is in God and not ourselves. No matter the hardships of life that we may be experiencing, we must not let our hope dissipate. Keep hope alive!

Scripture Prayer: “Why art thou cast down O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.” Psalms 42:5
