"Just Believe”

Cruising down the road on an ordinary day, I had the radio on, and a song was playing by Tasha Cobbs Leonard.  Maybe, you’ve heard it “GOTTA BELIEVE.”  As the song played, I purposed to really hear the words.  Some of the lyrics were, “It’s gonna work out like I knew it would, just believe.”  Those two words—just believe—truly resonated in my spirit.

My absolute favorite scripture is 1 John 5:14-15: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hears us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”

Beautiful ladies, just believe.  God hears you and if you believe He hears you, then He will give you what you ask because He said so in His Word.  Notwithstanding, we must ask according to His will. Sometimes, we get so excited about the “just believe” that we forget about the “according to His Will” segment.  We must know His Word to be able to ask “according to His Will” because His Word is His Will.

The Holy Spirit reminded me that our personal wills that we have drawn up to instruct beneficiaries on what is legally left to them after we have transitioned from this life is a great analogy of how His Will operates.  As a benefactor of a will, you must know what you are entitled to.

Your body and soul may feel broken and in pain—we’ve all experienced hurt at some level, but I encourage you, just believe.  God hears you when you ask Him to heal you. Isaiah 53:5, “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

You may be having problems at work, with your husband and/or with your kids, however God’s Word says grace and peace are multiplied to you, according to I Peter 1:2, just believe. God is the one we can trust implicitly, without question or reservation. This is the very God, the only true and living God who knows how many hairs we have or do not have on our head.  Just Believe

Here are a few scriptures references that speak to our belief in God’s Word.  Meditate on them and let them fill your heart.

1 Thessalonians 2:13, “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.”

1 Timothy 4:10, “That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.”

Hebrews 11:6, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

John 14:1, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.”
