"God Knows, Follow Him"

I was talking with someone the other day and the conversation reminded me of a poem a dear shared with me years ago.  The poem is entitled, “He Who Knows.” 

He who knows not and knows that he knows not is a child 

- teach him 

He who knows not and knows not that he knows not is a fool 

- shun him 

He who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep 

- wake him. 

He who knows and knows that he knows is wise 

- follow him.

God is infinite in wisdom.  That means His wisdom never runs out.  This is wonderful news for us because no matter how much wisdom we need, or how many times we ask, we can turn (and return) to God’s inexhaustible supply.   

“All glory to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, forever. Amen.” Romans 16:27 NLT 

“To God our Savior, who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.  Amen.” Jude 25 NKJV 

The truth of the matter is, God wants us to ask for as much wisdom as we need, as many times as we need it. 

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5, NKJV 

God is omniscient and He knows that He is; we just need to receive what He so freely gives.  I encourage you to receive God’s wisdom today and follow Him wherever He leads. 

PRAYER:  God, we thank you for being our all-wise Father.  We can always trust that You know what’s best for us.  Help us to follow You, and boldly approach Your throne, and You will give us mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen
