“Always Pray With Confidence”
“Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24 KJV)
In the spiritual context, the word confidence signifies having faith and trust that God will act effectively on our behalf. Of course, our Heavenly Father already knows our needs, but He still wants us to commune with Him through earnest prayer. When we send up our petitions, we must believe that the Lord is listening. He cares and will answer in His own timing.
1 John 5:14-15 “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us: And if we know that he hear us whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.”
There are times we may go to the Lord with half-hearted prayers out of formality and not with great expectation. When we don’t believe, we can’t expect to receive.
James 1:6-7 “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.”
God is a keeper of His Word, and His promises are sure. Anything that we ask that is fruitful for our spiritual well-being, just believe He will grant it according to His will.
Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
Reflective Prayer: Lord, help my unbelief. As I come to you out of the sincerity of my heart, I want to release any doubt that you will work it out. Help me to believe and receive all the blessings you have in store. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
