"Embrace the JOY of Every Morning”

“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” (Psalms 30:5 KJV)

I remember growing up in church as child hearing that old familiar song every Sunday, ‘In the Morning when I Rise.’  It made no logical sense to me why these grownups were so joyful and excited about rising in the morning when I hated getting up early for school and Sunday School. It was not until I grew to spiritual levels of maturity that everything began to click.

Morning signifies the dawning of a new day or new beginning. The “morning” that we rejoice about is when Jesus returns to gather his elect saints from every corner of the earth. Just as he died and rose again early on Resurrection Morning, on that morning we, too, who are asleep in Christ will rise because no grave can hold our bodies down. Oh, what a glorious day! (For further insight, read I Thess. 4:13-18

Scriptural Prayer:  Lord, help me to stand. “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us” (Rom. 8:18). For I know the trials we experience here on earth are only temporary. “…. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Psa. 30:5)
