“Don’t Let Yesterday Ruin Your Tomorrow!”

 

Yesterday means the past, the recent past, former times or days gone by.  Tomorrow is to look ahead, a chance for a new beginning, a new day, the near future.  

There are days when we just feel blah, experiencing low self-esteem, feeling downtrodden, sad, downhearted, dejected (sad and depressed; dispirited), rejected (excluded, unwanted) and snubbed (ridiculed).  Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) says, “Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your (His) faithfulness.”  God’s mercy is fresh and new every morning!  There is hope in the midst of despair. His faithfulness remains constant (continuous, endless, relentless). We can put our hope in Him because His mercies never end.  Be an overcomer! Don’t let yesterday ruin your today or tomorrow!   

Prayer:  Father we commit our days to your care.  May we be reminded of Philippians 4:8 (KJV), “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
