Devotionals for Wednesday: July 13

Introduction

As we study the Gospel, we pray for, anticipate, and expect spiritual growth in our lives. To facilitate this spiritual growth, we will use two components. One component is the commitment to attend the Wednesday Bible study from 7 pm-8:15 pm, either on campus in the Worship Center or via Livestream at www.bethelhampton.com. The second component is a set of weekly devotionals that we complete prior to the Wednesday Bible study.

The questions listed below are for you to answer and reflect upon as you study the chapter for this week. We suggest that you take at least four or five days each week for this personal devotional.

The Gifts and The Calling of God

Week 1 Devotional

Why Should We Pray for Healing?

Day 1: Romans 11:25-36

Who was Paul talking about in verse 29?

Who made and fulfilled the promises to them?

What does this say about God’s commitment to fulfilling His word?

Will God fulfill His promises to you too?

Day 2: Acts 2:38; Acts 10:45; Matthew 3:11 & 12

Who is the source of the gifts?

Was it for the Israelites only?

Who is the baptizer in the Holy Spirit?

Have you received the gift of the Holy Spirit?

Day 3: Ephesians 4:8 & 11

List the Five-Fold Ministry gifts and find an Old and New Testament example for each.

Day 4: 1 Corinthians 12:1-7

Why does Paul want us to understand the gifts of the Holy Spirit?

What are the three characteristics of the gifts?

What is similar about their operation?

Who profits from the manifestation of the gifts?

Day 5: Take the spiritual gifts test.
