How Will You Be Beautiful Today?

Some people look for beauty only with their eyes, but being beautiful has very little to do with how you look. After all, It’s been said that beauty is only skin deep and physical beauty fades. The scriptures put it this way: charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last. 

In the same vein, it’s disturbing to realize how much it is ingrained in women to prioritize their looks over all else. Over our comfort. Over our happiness. We’ve been taught that physical beauty—or rather, whatever society deems is beautiful at the moment—is why we are valued.  It’s a cruel untruth and the best remedy is to nourish our minds and spirits as reflected in scripture more than our reflections in the mirror or eyes of man. 

Scripture says that a beautiful woman is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks her words are wise and flows with kindness. (Proverbs 31:29-30)

If you’ve done any of the following seven things lately, you are absolutely beautiful:

1.     Make someone smile. A smile can literally melt away stress and pain. How beautiful of you to do that for someone else!

2.     Do something for someone who can do nothing for you. Be a blessing to someone expecting NOTHING in return. 

3.     Forgive someone without needing to hear the words, “I’m sorry.”

4.     Measure a person by their best moments, not their worst.

5.     When someone hurts you,  take the high road instead of being petty or vindictive.

6.     Show humility when your accomplishments would make it easy to stand above people.

7.     Make someone cry—tears of joy that is. People want to feel appreciated, inspired, valued. Never underestimate the power of touching someone’s heart.

These are the type of qualities that make for beautiful women—and believe me when I say there is something beautiful in everyone.
